The third of nine children, Margaret graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy in 1955. She loved to entertain and enjoy a good pa’ina, where she sang and performed lovely hula hands, learned under the tutelage of Aunty Maiki Aiu Lake. She was a powerhouse stroker for Waikiki Surf Club winning 5 Wahine Paddling Crew titles. Margaret worked for Dillingham Corp. and its subsidiary Young Brothers Hawaii for 40 years. She and John G. Peters II wed in 1961 and raised four beautiful children. Margaret was a very active member of the Roman Catholic Church in the State of Hawaii and was a dedicated parishioner at both St. Anthony of Padua, Kailua and St. John Vianney, Kailua, where she enjoyed being a member of the music ministry with each parish for over 55 years and shared her talents as a both a pianist and cantor. Margaret was also an active member of the Kailua Senior Citizen Club. Margaret loved to hele, traveling to Europe when she could, but she preferred her sojourns to Kaulaupapa, Molokai the best, where every year for the past 35 years she and her church group served and celebrated with the community.
