Aaron Keith LaPoint's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Navy Seaman Aaron Keith LaPoint, 24, of Royal Kunia, Aaron died suddenly on May 29, 2018 in West Greenwich, RI. while serving the United States Navy, in Groton Connecticut. He was born June 17, 1993 in Honolulu, HI at Tripler Army Medical Center, the son of Henry and Nerissa LaPoint. He attended and graduated from Radford High School in 2012, where he was a member of the Navy JROTC program. He attended college at Leeward Community College majoring in computer science for two years prior to enlisting in the United States Navy.
Aaron committed to serve his country as an active duty member of the United States Navy – a commitment he did not take lightly. In January 2016 he attended boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois; transferring to Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Navigation Electronics Technician A-School in Groton, Connecticut.
Aaron is survived by his parents Henry and Nerissa LaPoint of Royal Kunia and will forever be remembered by his devoted brother William. He also leaves his paternal grandmother Sandra Moody of Augusta Maine, He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him..
Aaron’s zest for life and infectious kindness impacted everyone he knew. A sweet and shining soul, he was positive and full of life. And, in typical Aaron fashion, he was always himself. An inclusive soul, he reveled in his diverse group of friends and was always on the search for the next big adventure or rave. Aaron loved listening to music, dancing, playing video games, blogging, laughing, being with his family, having fun with friends and teaching and caring for the younger Sailors he served with. Aaron touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend the memorial service.
Memorial arrangements are being handled by the Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary Kaneohe. Calling hours will be Tuesday 10 July 2018 starting at 10:30 followed by memorial service at 11:30. The Burial will be held on Tuesday 10 July 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe.
