His father told him at an early age to go to school or go work, so at the age of 15 he became a lot boy, at 16 he worked for Loves bakery and was fired by his brother- in-law Rodgers after spilling a whole pallet of flour, which he blames Rodgers for not teaching him to drive the fork lift. Then he followed his brother-in-law Porky and became a roofer for 40 years of hard work which took a toll on his health. In his prime he could load & shingle one house a day. He completed the whole Crestview Phase 1 subdivision by himself so whenever you pass there tip your hats off in remembrance of him. Whenever we traveled the island he would point out the many homes he roofed.
