Alexander Cadacio Casamina's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Alexander Cadacio Casamina, 93, of Honolulu, Hawaii. He was born October 11, 1920 in Narvacan, Ilocos, Sur, Philippines; where he lived until 1946 then migrated to Hawaii, in the last wave of Sakadas. His parents were Julio Casamina and Paula Cadacio; he was the third of seven children. He was a Crane Operator for Ookala Sugar Plantation on the Big Island, a Ward Clerk at Leahi Hospital, then retired in 1982 after serving 32 years as a Stevedore for Castle & Cooke. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church, a star bowler for Castle & Cooke bowling team and ILWU Statewide bowling team captain. He was married to Teodora Casil Cabot on May 28, 1945 in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Alexander loved watching the Lakers basketball team, playing payut card game, visiting Las Vegas, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was survived by his wife, Teodora C. Casamina; daughters, Tessie (Cris) Pascua, Elsie (Mark) Casamina-Fernandez, Amelia (Arnold) Cabatu, Evangeline Casamina (Bobby Supnet); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers: Leoncio Casamina, Santos (Flora) Casamina, and Gerry (Rosita) Casamina; many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and great-grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and one great-great-grandniece.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014, at St. Philomena Catholic Church; family service to begin at 10:00 a.m. and Mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Valley of The Temples Memorial Park.
