Alexander Salvador Nicolas' Obituary
Alexander “Alex” Salvador Nicolas, 56, of Waipahu, HI, passed away on December 16, 2022 after a difficult battle with esophageal cancer. Alex was born on August 3, 1966 to Rosalindo and Josefina Nicolas in Piddig, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. After graduating from Radford High School in 1985, he made money by working at Popeyes and selling newspapers until he settled as a sandblaster/ship painter at BAE Systems where he became a journeyman. In 1991, he met Catherine Talusan, and they had 2 children, Edouard and Alyssa Kay. They had divorced but many years later, he met his loving sweetheart Wirriam Lacuesta and remarried in 2009 and had 2 more children, Audrie Yannah and Alexa Wria. Alex was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He spent many days under the sun, whether it was working hard doing overtime at the Pearl Harbor shipyard or spending time with family at the beach, going camping, going around the island, and so forth. He gave his family many memorable and warm memories. Alex always knew how to be at the center of a party, by grabbing his guitar and singing his heart out to tunes from the 60s-70s. As lively as he was, he loved to stay home and enjoy the nice hawaiian breeze with a pack of Heineken. Anyone who knew Alex knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Alex was predeceased by Rosalindo, Quezon, Cornelio, and Primo Nicolas. He is survived by his wife Wirriam Nicolas, children Edouard, Alyssa, Audrie, and Alexa Nicolas, mother Josefina Nicolas, and sisters Violeta Castillo, Anita Bautista, Lydia Agno, Nida Rania, and Perlita Guting. There will be a funeral service and burial at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park Cemetery in Kāneʻohe at the Main Chapel on January 9, 2023 at 9:00 AM.
