Alexander Jacinto Ramos' Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Alexander Jacinto Ramos, who was born on February 12, 1950 in Laoag City, Philippines and passed away on August 25, 2019. He was the oldest of four children born to Edilberto and Florentina Ramos. He attended Bacnotan National High School and University of the East in Manila, Philippines. He majored in Commerce and focused mainly in banking and finance.
However, his career in life took him to a different path. On November 1979, he and his family joined his parents and siblings in Honolulu, Hawaii. He got a job at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel’s restaurant as a busboy and worked his way up to a waiter. He discovered that he thoroughly enjoyed being a waiter and ended up working there for almost 20 years.
Alex, as he was known by all that knew him, loved to sing and even owned a Karaoke machine. He loved singing oldies tunes, especially love songs. On his past time, he enjoyed spear fishing and was a master when it came to playing Chinese poker or better known in Hawaii as “Pepito”.
After he retired, he worked part-time doing odd jobs. Because he was a dual citizen of both U.S. and the Philippines, he divided his time between both countries. Alex was preceded in death by his wife Maria Aurora or “Mary”, as she was known, and by his father Edilberto Ramos.
Alex was a people person, full of life and always quick with a joke or two. He lived life to the fullest; he may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
