Alice Mae Anae's Obituary
Alice Mae Rice Anae, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Tacoma, Washington – she was the daughter of the late David Leeander Rice and Inez Adora Bristol.
She attended the Tacoma Public Schools system and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. Alice graduated from The Church College of Hawaii in 1971, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education.
Alice and her late husband, Famika Anae, were teachers at Kahuku High. She retired from the DOE after 28 years of service at Kahuku High. Alice was very active as a member of the LDS church. She loved her church callings as Laurel Advisor and Guide Patrol in the scouting program. A dedicated wife and mother, she was kept busy supporting seven children and being actively involved in the lives of her 28 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.
Alice is survived by 5 sons: Allen, Brad, Robert, Matthew and Grant; and two daughters: Audri and Wendy; 12 grandsons: Brad Olomua, Bristol Olomua, Ryan Anae, Gavin Anae, Famika Anae, Tyson Anae, Bristol Anae, Aulelio Olomua, Max Anae, Harrison Anae, Bradlee Anae, Moroni Anae; 15 granddaughters: Karen Meyer, Jordan Moala, Tumua Tavana, Kellie Anae, Penny Fuimaono, Lauren Olomua, Salia Olomua, Madison Anae, Pati Anae, Wendy Anae, Adora Anae, Bradina Anae, Sina Anae, Tasi Anae; 9 great-grandchildren: Scotty Meyer, Matai Meyer, Litani Moala, Paige Anae, Annabel Moala, Junie Moala, Breez Olomua, Olive Tavana, Famika Moala. Deceased: Alapati Anae
