Alice Lacy Johnson's Obituary
Alice Lacy Johnson, 98, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 and was reunited with her husband Victor. Alice was born in 1921 to Henry Veere Lacy and Jessie Valentine Ankeny Lacy. She was born in Fuqing, Fuzhou Fujian China while her parents served there as missionaries. At age 16, Alice, her two siblings and parents left China when the Japanese invaded and war ensued. In keeping true to the life of teaching, Alice graduated with her Bachelor's in Arts degree and eventually moved to Hawaii where she taught at Punahou Schools. She taught 4th grade and while there, met and married husband, Victor Louis Johnson. Upon starting their family, Alice decided to leave full-time teaching and would tutor while enjoying her main role as mother. Alice and Victor were parents to and are survived by their three children: Barclay Johnson, Lacy Fitzpatrick, and Louis Johnson. Family is planning a celebration of life and information will be forthcoming.
