Alice Vera Wilk's Obituary
Alice Vera Wilk, aged 93, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 12, 1932, in Austin, Texas, the cherished daughter of the late Harold and Gladie (Rinard) Fountain Sr. Alice grew up in Mexia, Texas, where she graduated from Mexia High School where she became a star softball player in her youth.
She married Eugene Dyson in Mexia, Texas, and together they began building a life. After Eugene's untimely passing, Alice moved to Shell Beach, CA, where she met Chester "Chet" Wilk. The two formed a deep bond and were united in marriage on October 5, 1963. Together, they built a life of love, adventure, and partnership.
Alice and Chet eventually made their home in Kaneohe, Hawaii, where they co-owned and operated two small businesses, Frames Hawaii Nei and Wilk Orchid Specialties. Alice became a devoted member of the community through her active involvement at St. Ann Church. Her passion for life extended into hobbies such as orchid growing, bowling, and bridge.
Alice’s legacy lives on through her children: David (Kim) Wilk of Ogden, UT, Ronald Dyson of Mexia, TX; and Christy (Jeffrey) Altenhof of De Pere, WI. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Benjamin(Jennifer) Dyson, Jared Altenhof, Krysta Altenhof, William Dyson and Daniel Dyson; along with her nephew, Keith (Holly) Black. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husbands, Eugene Dyson and Chester Wilk, and her siblings, Harold Fountain Jr. and Marie Black.
Family and Friends may gather on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park Makai Chapel beginning at 4:30 PM followed by a Catholic Prayer Service and Memorial Dinner until 8:00 PM.
