Celebrating the Life of Allison Larkin En Jin Char, born February 3, 1938 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her parents were Maurice Char and Alice Soong. She was the 4th out of 8 children. Allison passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Allison was a retired elementary school teacher for Lunalilo Elementary School. She earned her Master's Degree of Education and began a career as an elementary school teacher. Her most important events in her life were birthdays and remembering to write everyone’s birthdays on her calendar. Her favorite thing to do to was play Mahjong. Her favorite type of music to listen to was Country Gospels and Hawaiian. She is survived by sister, Ellen Mae (Oh Shun) Lim; brothers, Marvin (Frances) Char and Myron (Joann) Char; nieces, nephews and grandnieces; some of her special friends were June, Lucille, Iris, Karen, Nora, Eileen and many more.
Her services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m., services will begin at 10:30 a.m.; burial to follow at 1:00 p.m at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
