Alofa Puanani Mapusaga's Obituary
Obituary as written by husband, Darryl...
We're celebrating the life of Alofa Puanani Mapusaga, who was born on October 30th, 1990 in Oak Harbor, Washington; daughter and third child of Ulysses and Yvonne Saromines.
Alofa never grew up in Washington; she was raised on the shores of Waianae, Hawaii. She attended Kamaile Elementary School, Waianae Intermediate School, and graduated from Waianae High School(Class of 2008). She went on to graduate school @ Remington College, achieving her Associates Degree.
Alofa worked at Waianae High School as a teacher's aide and Jack-in-the-Box in Waianae as cashier. She then took a break and went on her mission serving our God. She came back and got a position as a bus aide at Roberts Hawaii. She changed her career path and wanted to be a nurse; so she was hired as a home care aide in Washington State for two different agencies.
Alofa was married to Darryl Mapusaga at the age of 22 years old at Maili Beach.
Alofa was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of the Makaha Ward.
Alofa's influences in her life consisted of many loving faces, her parents, siblings and husband. She also had one niece "Kahiwalani," who helped Alofa to keep a smile on her face.
Alofa upheld her name by everyone above, but mainly from her loving heart. Her name means "Love" in Samoan.
Alofa's most important moments in her life were many. Just to name a few in her adult life, has to be getting married, moving into our own place, and the most recent one was becoming pregnant. All of these moments were blessed by our Heavenly Father and supported by her family.
Alofa enjoyed many different things to keep her busy and to have fun. She enjoyed to sing, dance, write, etc.; anything that would make her move, she's there. She would even go the the casinos, just to "blow off steam." LOL!
She LOVED to keep a smile on everyone's faces, never liked conflict, never mad; she always loved to smile showing everyone "ALOHA," giving everyone "Alofa" is what she loved to do. As long as everyone was happy, Alofa was happy.
"We Love You My Love"
Alofa is survived by her loving husband, Darryl Mapusaga; parents, Ulysses and Yvonne Saromines; siblings, Chanel Lau, Faasopo Saromines and Ulysses Saromines II; niece, Kahiwalani Kaahaaina; grandpa, Kenneth Saromines; grandma, Melinda Patch; hanai sisters, Savannah Mersberg and Shania Mersberg.
