Alvin Yutaka Nakashima's Obituary
Alvin Yutaka Nakashima, 72 of Waipio Gentry, passed away on January 13, 2015 at Kaiser Hospital. Mr. Nakashima was raised in Kailua and retired from the Honolulu Advertiser as an Electrician and Machinist. He served in the Air Force with the Special Force Commando in Far East Asia. He had a passion for Harleys and was a former member of the Koa Puna Motorcycle Club.
Survived by wife, Carol; son, Adrian Kaleo (Lema Jean) Nakashima; daughters, Alexis Kapualani (Jory) McElroy, and Johanna Kai Jodi (Justin Mercado) Nakashima; grandchildren, Jehnna (Cameron) McKeague, Jaymilee, Joselyn “Kau’i”, Amber Dawn, Elijah McElroy, ‘Eleu Williams and Andrew and Ashlyn Nakashima; great-granddaughter, Lilia K. McKeague. Also survived by brothers, Dr. Rolland (Rosemarie) Nakashima of Chadds Ford, PA, Dr. George (Carol) Nakashima of La Canada, California; sister, Amy (Gene) Sakado of Monterey Park, California; sister-in-law,
Nancy Ellen and brother-in-law Budd Kopman of NYC; loving cousins, nieces and nephews, and the entire Yuen ‘Ohana.
Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 a.m. at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary on Saturday, February 21, 2015.
Private burial at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific-Punchbowl. No flowers. Family requests very casual attire be worn.
