Anthony "Tony" Paul Kanzic's Obituary
Celebrating the life of Anthony “Tony” Paul Kanzic, 73, of Kailua, Hawaii, who passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
He was born on August 13, 1942 to Anthony Alexander Kanzic and Theresa Ann Okopal in Pittsburgh, Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, where he lived until 1960. He was the second oldest out of six children.
After graduation, he began a career in the United States Marine Corps and served from 1960 to 1990, during the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant and received numerous medals, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Achievement medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He retired in 1990, after service for 30 years. After retirement, he became a Professional Golf Instructor for the PGA.
He lived in Kailua, Hawaii and married Hatsu Shinzato in 1966.
Tony’s most important events in his life was being a Marine, meeting and marrying his wife and becoming a father and grandfather. He was a kind, gentle, honest, loving and happy man who enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with his wife and family.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Hatsu Kanzic; daughter, Suzan Kanzic (Brian) Akamine; son, Akira Anthony Kanzic; granddaughter, Kiara Megumi Kanzic; and grandsons, Trip Seichi Akamine and Cruz Seiei Akamine.
Visitation to celebrate his life will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; service to begin at 9:30 a.m., with a Committal Service to follow 11:00 a.m. at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
