Antonio Tolentino Somera's Obituary
Antonio Tolentino Somera, 83 of Ewa Beach, Hawaii passed away in Honolulu on Monday, April 23, 2018. He was born to Salome (Tolentino) and Patricio Somera in Barangay Bacsil, Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on August 23, 1934. He was the second oldest of six children.
Antonio attended Bacsil Elementary and Suyo Elementary Schools. After graduation, he pursued a career as a farmer in the Philippines.
After coming to Hawaii, Antonio worked for and retired in 2007 as a building maintenance worker with Armstrong Building Maintenance.
Antonio married Auria Delos Santos Esteban on April 18, 1965 at St. Joseph Church in Dingras.
Special people who have influenced his life were Emilio Valencia and Julio Tolentino.
Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Auria Esteban Somera; children, Arnel (Evelyn) Somera, Miriam Somera-Basuel (Richard Basuel), Iranio (Judith) Somera, Larry Somera, and Yoly Somera-Guira (Alejandro Guira, Jr.); nine grandchildren; siblings, Angelita Somera Fontanilla, Estefania Somera Maulit, Cornelio (Conchita) Somera, and Felicitas Somera (Fernando) Agonoy.
Celebration of life services in Hawaii for Antonio will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; visitation from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m., with wake service to begin at 7:00 p.m. It was his wishes to have additional funeral services and to be buried in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, if anything ever happened to him. His family will be carrying out his wishes.
