April Park Hamatake's Obituary
April Hamatake passed away September 28, 2023 at her home in Kailua, Hawaii of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. She was 69. April was born in Honolulu on April 26, 1954 to Ethel and James Park. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert; sons Kyle (Monique) and David; grandson Judd; granddaughter Kira; sisters Signe, Coral, and Dawne (Dicky); brothers Conrad, Reuben (Marion), Edison (Toni), and Rodney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
April attended Royal School, Central Intermediate, Farrington High School, the University of Hawaii, and Rider University and had many close friends from her schools. She was deeply spiritual, artistically creative and passionate about knowledge and self-awareness. Her interests in healing led her to the International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego where she earned certification as a bodyworker. She specialized in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and formed deep friendships with many fellow practitioners.
April loved art and saw beauty everywhere in nature. She loved whales, songbirds, poetry, making collages, and sharing meals with family. April will be remembered for her warm smile, her vitality and wit, her creativity, and the light and love that she shared with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Valley of the Temples Mortuary Main Chapel on Friday November 10, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm. Casual attire. Donations may be made to the ALS Association, Golden West Chapter in her memory.
