A few men have come into my life trying to claim the "dad" title. One was close, but there were no success, until I met my Nailima's daddy and her best friend. From the moment, I met you in your kitchen with a welcoming smile until that last goodbye at your shop/barn with your proud smile hidden under your mustache, you have displayed everything a father should be. Loving and caring. Generous and giving. Powerful and protective. Supportive and understanding. Kind and encouraging. I could continue to describe you with every single word this world has, yet it could never fully demonstrate who you are, who you were and the difference you have made in everyone's life. I could see why Nailima loved you so much. You were always there for her, not only as a father, but as a best friend and as a boss.
I don't know who wouldn't be touched by your presence and by your heart. Even when I was on the outside, looking in, your love was unwavering. Treating me and calling me one of your own always touched my heart, that's not a gesture just anyone can do. I can still remember our usual "business meetings" every Saturdays, sitting in your garage, drinking brown bottles and singing into the late nights, from Pua Lilia (at least three different times each Sat. night) to Surround me with Love, throwing in some Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, add in Masese, Tele I'a O le Sami and always ending it with Help me make it through the night. Thank you for being an amazing man, an awesome boss and the best father. For me there was never a father-in-law, just a father.
Loved beyond words!! Missed beyond measure.... I love you dad!
