Barbara Jean Napua Chang's Obituary
BARBARA JEAN NAPUA CHANG, 72, of Kaneohe, passed away November 23, 2015. Born October 26, 1943 in Honolulu to parents John G. Peters Sr. and Mildred Kulamanu Wong Peters, she lived in Honolulu until 1964. She attended Kailua High School and later began a career as a Medical Records Clerk at Kaiser Permanente Ko’olau Clinic and retired in 2005 after 15 years of service.
On August 1, 1964, she married Buzzy Chang at St. Ann Catholic Church in Kaneohe and has been a faithful member of the Parish family for many years. She loved God.
Her special friends are Alma Aton, Betty Canzoneri, Debbie Merrit, Sandra Page and Laura Sonham. She was loyal, kind, loving and humorous. Marriage and motherhood were most important to her, and she especially enjoyed attending events involving her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and enjoyed Las Vegas. Hawaiian music was her favorite.
She is survived by husband, Robert T.K. Chang; son, Robert N.S.C.K. (Jodi) Chang; daughters, Colleen (Kaipo) Miller, Kristine "Dodie" Chang, Faith Keonaona "Keona" (Kale) Gibb; sisters, Yvonne (Benjamin) Lum and Margaret "Mamo" Namohala; grandchildren, Nicholas Miller, Aaron Miller, Chasity Molina, Justin Molina, Ezekiel Marshall, Stirmont Gibb, Chloe Chang and Callie Chang, and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held Friday, December 11, 2015, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 46-129 Haiku Road, Kaneohe. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Eulogy and remembrances 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Aloha attire is suggested. Lei are welcome.
