Aloha and condolences to the entire Alcantra family. Our names are Mike and Jamie Elwood. We lived next to Bessie on Hauone Street from 2009 to 2011. She welcomed us to the neighborhood with so much genuine love and kindness. We stayed in touch with her after we moved and saw her when our schedules allowed, but were unable to visit her during the covid pandemic for obvious reasons. We were shocked and deeply saddened to see her house go up for sale and then to find her obituary. She was so kind, generous and loving to all who knew her and she will be missed. Please know that her memory will remain in our hearts forever.
