Beatrice "Granny Bea" Y. L. Silva's Obituary
Beatrice “Grannie Bea” Y. L. (Hoe) Silva a long time resident of Wai‘anae, Hawai‘i passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, March 5, 2016 with her family by her side. She was 88 years old. Born to Richard Chung Sing Hoe and Flora K. Kama in Honolulu, Hawai‘i on January 2, 1928 in the Territory of Hawai‘i. She was employed and retired from the Ramada Inn at the Honolulu Airport.
Better and affectionately known to everyone as “Grannie Bea”.
She is survived by her son, Clifford Silva Jr.; daughter, Claudette (Stanley) Joseph; six grandchildren, Stoney (Brandy) Joseph, Stancie (Dean) Freitas, Kehau Laa, Clint (Michelle) Silva, Shawn (Mariebeth) Silva, and Rocky (Leslie) Silva; 16 great, grandchildren; Brittany Faborito, John Joseph, Shanlee-Ann Joseph, Dean “DJ” Freitas Jr., Dustin Freitas, Stoney Boy Joseph, Branstan Joseph, Rydin Joseph, Joshua Joseph, Tasia Silva, Tia Silva, Blaze Silva, Chase Silva, Roxy Silva, Racin Silva, and Clifton Silva; one great-great, grandchild; Landon Silva; brothers, Daniel Hoe and Damien Hoe; sister, Mary (Hoe) Quemado and numerous hanai children, nephews, nieces, and friends.
A time of gathering to celebrate the life of Grannie Bea will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (located at 85-786 Old Government Road Wai‘anae, Hawai‘i). Father Ramone Francisco will be presiding over service. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.; eulogy at: 11:30 a.m.; Mass to begin at 12:00 p.m., with burial to follow 2:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery (located at 45-425 Kamehameha Highway Kaneohe, Hawai‘i; Mt. Calvary III) where she will be laid to rest beside her husband of 70 years.
Grannie Bea, you will be forever in our hearts and memories, we will miss you tremendously but knowing that you are with God and watching over us gives comfort knowing that you are in a better place. Rest in Love our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunty, and friend.
