Bennett Wah Choy Leu's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Bennett Wah Choy Leu, who was born on February 11, 2015 in Kaneohe, Hawaii where he lived until April 14, 2015. His parents were Charles Lin and Nun Wong. He was second of 12 children. He attended Ben Parker Elementary and The University of Hawaii. After graduation, he began a career as a police officer with the Honolulu Police Department where he later retired in 1980 after serving 30 years. He lived in Kaneohe all of his life. He was married to Suyeko “Sue” on November 23, 1963 in Hilo. He was part of the Bow Yee Tong. He also served in the United States Air Force and Army from 1945 to 1948 during the Post-World War II. He attained the rank of Corporal and received the Asiatic Pacific Theater ribbon, Germany Occupation and WWII Victory Medal. His most important events were receiving rank of Lieutenant at HPD and the birth of his children. He was a funny, witty, generous, dependable and loving man. He loved to Draw, play the harmonica and watch boxing. He loved to listen to mariachi, polka and Hawaiian music.
He is survived by wife, Suyeko Leu; daughter, Renee Leu; sons, Brandon and Barron Leu; brother, Wilbert Leu; sisters, Cora Shodahl, Eunice Leu, Janet Wong and Virginia Chee; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for his funeral service will be held from 10:00-1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; service to begin at 11:00a.m; private burial; casual attire; no flowers and no monetary donations.
