Bert W. Peterka Jr.'s Obituary
Bert W. Peterka Jr. of Kailua, Oahu passed away at home on April 15, 2024. He was born in Oceanside, CA on August 3, 1956 to Bert W. Peterka and Alice J. Robinson. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland. Bert was owner of BWP Construction with over 35 years in the Hawaii construction industry. Some of his projects included being general contractor for the Gemini Observatory and structural contractor for the Subaru Japanese Telescope located on the summit of Mauna Kea.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Castle Medical Center and Navian Hawaii. Bert was a loving, caring, generous and devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Papa, and cousin. He is survived by his wife, Wendy-Lee Bruhn-Peterka; son, Bert W. Peterka III; brother, Bret W. Peterka; sisters, Pam Kinkema (David) and Patti Johnson (Mike); step-children, Mei-Lin Bruhn-Fati (Andrew), Jacob Bruhn (Jodie), and Makana Bruhn-Balete (Josh); and 9 grandchildren.
Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, June 8th at the Peterka Hale, 926 Wanaao Rd. Kailua 96734, 11am-3pm.
