Beverly Jean Miller 's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Beverly Jean Kanani (White) Akana Miller, age 76, of Waianae, Hawaii. Passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Beverly was born on August 12, 1937 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Harry Lester White Jr. and Isabella Emmalia Likua. She was the 2nd of 7 children. She attended Castle High School. She lived in Kaneohe, Kalihi and Waianae. She married Charles Kelekolio Akana on March 30, 1957 at Kaneohe LDS Chapel. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. Some organization she was involved in was Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Waianae Valley Homestead Association. Her most important events in their life were her graduation, marriage, having her four children then grandchildren and traveling, watching her ohana grow and being baptized in to the church. In her past time she loved playing music and going to family gatherings. She enjoyed listening to old Hawaiian music and LDS Church Songs. Some of her special friends were Wanda, Alapai Kahuena and Florence Fitzgerald. Beverly is survived by her sons, Tracy K. (Fran Kaleimamahu) and Dewy M. Akana; daughters, Cecilia L. (Weyten) Paaluhi, Charlene P. (Robert) Rowland; brothers, Patrick, Harry, Dukie and Thomas White; sisters, Gwen White, Malia Silva and Lulu Ridgeway; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Her services will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-Waianae. Visitation will be from 5:30-6:30p.m. and service will begin at 6:30p.m. Burial will be 10:00a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
