Bing C. Chin's Obituary
Bing Chor Chin was born in Guangzhou, China on September 28, 1936 to Show Goon (Bing’s father) and Ngan Chow (Bing’s mother). At the insistence of his mother, his father arranged for Bing to travel by boat at the age of 13 years old to be with him in San Francisco. Bing completed his high school degree from Galileo High School. In 1955, he joined the navy and worked as airplane mechanic on aircraft carriers. Bing was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1961. Bing and Jessie Chang were married at Our Lady of Peace Cathedral in Honolulu, HI on January 28, 1967. Bing will say it was because of and through Jessie that he completed his business degree at USF, started his own refrigeration technician business, had two boys and grew his family circle (which included his friends – his adopted family, wide and far). Family was of utmost importance to Bing as many of you know and will attest. He would never turn down an opportunity to help a friend or family member (there was no distinction for him). Bing Chor Chin died on August 31, 2018 at 8:10 am, at the age of 80, surrounded by family at Mills Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, CA. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Chin, his oldest son, Chris, his second son Kyle, his daughter-in-law Jennifer and his two grandchildren, Joshua and Connor.
Services for Bing Chor Chin will be held at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel in the Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe, HI on October 20, 2018 at 1:30 pm PST.
