Boniface "Sonny" Smith, Jr.'s Obituary
Boniface “Sonny” Smith, Jr., 79, a resident of Kāneʻohe, O‘ahu passed away on May 31, 2016 at the Castle Medical Center in Kailua with his family by his side. He was the first of four children born to Boniface Smith and Alice Kuuleialohapoinaole Kahanu in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 15, 1937. He was a retired motor vehicle operator with the Pearl Harbor Shipyard, FISC (Fleet and Industrial Center) and a United States Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Nora Smith; sons, Daniel “Danny” (Tammy), Erik and Froy (Lori) Smith; daughters, April (Rob) Aiwohi and Candi (Ola) Smith; brothers, Daniel Smith and Dalton Smith; sister, Lanalynn Kalahiki; 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services for Sonny will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., service to begin at 11:30 a.m. Committal Service 2:00 p.m. at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery Committal Shelter with Military Honors to be rendered at that time.
He will be truly missed by all his family and friends. His infectious smile will never be forgotten. A humble man of few words, We love you forever.
