To the Chai Ohana,
I was sad to hear of Coach Chai's passing. He was coaching up at Kamehameha when I was playing for Saint Louis. During the planning of the 60's ILH football reunion, I was fortunate to have touched base with a few of his players like Doss Tannehill, the Wong brothers Eric and Bruce, Ed Kaahea and Billy Ornellas. They all spoke highly of their coach, which is why I was sorry he was unable to make the reunion, as I wanted to say hello to him. He was a respectable man. When I played third base, he would every now and then strike up a conversation from his coaching box. I thought that was pretty cool at the time. We all lost a legend. My condolences to you all.
