Celebrating the Life of Chester Lionel Kehaulani Miner Hoapili Sr.
Born August 7, 1946 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Raised in Kalihi where he attended Farrington High School and graduated with the class of 1964. He was a jack of all trades as he was experienced and knowledgeable in just about anything.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Chester believed that the Bible shares a hope of pain, suffering and death coming to an end as brought out in one of his of his favorite scriptures of revelations 21:4.
Besides his warm smile and big hug, Chester was known for having a big heart. He was one who not only spoke of love ad family, but truly manifested it in his dealings with everyone he met.
Chester saw his children as his proudest and greatest accomplishment. The birth of each of his grandchildren are also special moments in his life. His love for his family was beyond measure. In fact, when asked by his grandchildren as to how much he loved them, he often replied with "Taller than two telephone poles meaning alot!"
Chester is survived by his mother, Marietta Kawa who is at her prime at 101 years old; he is also survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Frances Hoapili; sons, Lionel (Samantha), Richard (Marie) and Pomai Hoapili; daughter, Danal (Edgar) Kapu; grandchildren, Elijah, Madisosn, Ke'Alaula and Welaeluli; brothers, Richard Luke, John, Essy, Joseph and Sam; sisters, Marietta Langes, Stephanie Miner, Louise Auwae, Annette Naba and Faith Miner. As well as his many nieces, nephews and 'Ohana.
