Clarita Garcia Benito's Obituary
Clarita Garcia Benito, 87, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024, in Honolulu, Hawaii surrounded by family. She was born on July 10, 1936, in Rosales, Philippines to the late Adriano and Genoveva Garcia. Clarita was a college professor who taught home economics at National Clark College in the Phillipines. When migrating to Hawaii, she was employed at Dole Cannery and retired in 1978. She then pursued a career as a teachers aide and cafeteria assistant for the Department of Education from 1983-1985. Clarita then decided to become a stay-home mother to raise her children while her husband worked two jobs to provide for their family. During her free time, Clarita loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas. She also was an active member for the Pauahi Recreation Center where she expressed her love for dance. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Domingo G. Benito Sr. and is survived by her children: Catherine Barroga, Roland (Apollo) Benito, Domingo (Mary) Benito, Henry (Riza) Benito; Siblings: Josephine Marcos, Adelaide Canlas; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 9am-12pm at Valley of the Temples Trousdale Chapel and Burial at 1pm at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
