Clement Jun-Choy Aleka-Gorai's Obituary
Clement JunChoy Aleka-Gorai 58, of Kane’ohe, O’ahu, born August 9, 1961. Passed away in Mendoza, Argentina on February 26, 2020. He is preceded in death by his father Arthur Gorai. Survived by his mother Evelyn Gorai, sons-Bricen and Garrison, siblings-brother Clifford (Marjorie) Gorai, sister Arleila (Michael) Andrade, sister Arnel Gorai (Ronald Skaggs), a niece and nephews. He was a loving son, brother, and father.
He served 4 years in the United States Navy. Employed by various employers on O’ahu, including Midpac, Hemmeter Corporation, HonSports, Hawthorne Pacific Hawai’i, and the Department of Defense at Kane’ohe Marine Corps Base Hawai’i as a Material Handler/Motor Vehicle Operator.
Clement enjoyed running, hiking, and climbing. He was involved in numerous marathons and clubs, such as the Great Aloha Run, H.U.R.T. 100 and The Honolulu Marathon. He was also involved with the Aloha Week Parade and Hawaiian Civic Club. Clement also traveled the world summiting great mountains including Denali in Alaska, Kilimanjaro, South Africa, Mount Elbrus in Russia, and at least 20 plus, U.S. high peaks. His final summit attempt was Aconcagua Mountain in Argentina.
Valley of the Temples Memorial Park will host a Live Stream session of the funeral service on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. Hawaii Pacific Time
A private burial will be held at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park at Kane’ohe, Hawai’i A Celebration of Life will occur at a later Date.
