Celebrating the Life of Constantina “Ostang” Butac Balanay, age 89, of Aiea, Hawaii who passed away on November 30, 2013. Constantina was born on May 8, 1924 in Bo. #13, Manarang,Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Gabriel Butac and Servilla Dalere. She was the oldest of two children. She attended Manarang Elementary School. She was married to Pablo Balanay on November 17, 1941in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. A member of Saint Paul’s Catholic Church. Her most important events in her life were taking a trip to Orosi, California to visit her daughter, Nerlita and Roanoke, Virginia to visit her other daughter, Aling. She enjoyed shopping. Constantina is survived by her daughters, Leonida Balanay, Adelia (Domingo) Butac, Lucena (Antonio) Raquel. Belen (Alfredo Jr.) Udani, Aling (Ron) Compton and Nerlita (David) Bachman; sons, Andres (Trinidad), Rudy (Rovelin), Jaime, Rey and Jeoffrey (Jenny) Balanay; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Her services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary with visitation from 5:30-9:00 p.m., family service at 6:30 p.m. and wake service at 7:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be the following day (Saturday, December 28, 2013) to be held at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park Chapel with visitation from 9:00-9:30 a.m., Mass to begin at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow 11:00 a.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park. Casual attire.
