Corabelle A. Earnshaw
June 15, 1933 – August 30, 2021
At peace, Corabelle “Corky” Earnshaw passed away August 30th in Kailua, HI of natural causes. The second of five children, Corabelle was born June 15, 1933, in Wallowa, Oregon to George and Martha Coleman. Upon graduating from Nyssa High School, Corabelle attended St. Luke’s nursing school in Boise, ID, where she found her passion for caring for patients.
While attending school in Boise, Corabelle met Tom Earnshaw, her husband of 59 years. Together, they had five children: Tom (Madge), Cindy (Robert), Stan (Jan’l), Dennis (Susan) and Jana (Chuck). She has 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Corabelle is also survived by two sisters (Catherine and Janet) and a brother (Gale).
Corabelle loved the operating room. As a life-long learner, she continually focused on expanding her knowledge of different specialties that ranged from orthopedics and ophthalmology to organ transplants. Driven to serve others, Corabelle participated in three medical missions providing surgical care to the outer reaches of the Philippines and Vietnam. She was very active in Kailua United Methodist Church and the Family Promise ministry.
A memorial will be postponed until it can be held safely. There will be a family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Corabelle’s memory can be made to Kailua United Methodist Church.
