Cresente Prieto Guillermo's Obituary
Cresente Prieto Guillermo passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the age of 85.
He was born on May 29, 1940, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, to Amador and Filomena Guillermo. He studied architecture at National University in Manila, Philippines before immigrating to Honolulu, Hawaii, where he built a life rooted in hard work, creativity, and family.
Cresente began his career working at Travelodge and the Hyatt in Waikiki, and later dedicated many years to Kamehameha, Bishop estates- Kawaihao Plaza in maintenance before retiring.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Emelita Guillermo; his daughters, Joanne Guillermo Rarangol (Mac Rarangol) and Grace Guillermo Rosales (Raymond Rosales); and his cherished grandchildren, Rai and Bea Rarangol, and Olivia and Cyrus Rosales. He is also survived by his siblings, Fred Guillermo, Rosario Cristobal, and Bienvenida Piniol.
Cresente had a deep love for dancing and was an active member of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association. He found joy in music, building and creating things around the home, and was an avid sports fan who cheered for the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco 49ers. He loved traveling to San Francisco to visit his daughter and grandchildren and would often make a stop in Las Vegas.
Above all, he was a devoted family man. As a full-time grandfather, he lovingly cared for his grandchildren—driving them to school and activities, and always making sure they had their favorite foods. He stayed closely connected with his family, regularly calling to check in, often asking about their day.
He lived with so much aloha and will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the deep love he had for his family.
