Darrel "Ted" Enoch Turner's Obituary
Darrel “Ted” Enoch Turner was born on June 30, 1947 in Honolulu, Hawaii to George Wesley Turner and Lorraine Maile Ontai, he passed away in Ewa Beach, Oahu on May 26, 2015. He was the eldest of six children.
Darrel served as a Police Officer for ten years with the Honolulu Police Department and later became a Tour Bus Driver with Polynesian Hospitality. He served as an Umpire for the ASA “Amateur Softball Association” and also in the United States Navy (Veteran) as a Submarine Sailor/Electronic Technician.
Darrel was involved with Oahu Tour Drivers, Beach Boys Golf Club and the ASA Hawaii Chapter. His most significant events in his life were the raising of his children, the birth of his grandchildren, as well as raising them too. His favorite song was “Always on My Mind” sung by Willie Nelson.
Darrel will be well known as a Loving, Active, Genuine, Intelligent, and an Adored man in the life of his family and friends.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Charlene Turner; son, Pal (Donna DeMello) Turner, daughter; Gwendolyn (Cy Jr.) Turner-Kalama, brother; Gary Turner of Luisville, KY, sister; Gwen B. (Charlie) Rowe of Louisville, KY, six (6) grandchildren; Mahina Turner, Makoa Turner, Mele Turner, Nanea, La‘akea, and Temana Kalama.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Visitation: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., with Service at 10:30 a.m., and burial to follow at 1:00 p.m., at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery
