Celebrating the life of David Duldulao Domingo
David was born on July 19, 1944, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. His parents were the late Alfreo Tumamao Domingo Sr. and Norberta Duldulao Domingo. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Alfreo Jr., Narciso, Ernesto, and Benito. He is survived by his wife Adelina Mandac Domingo, his son Jonathan, and daughter Melissa. He is also survived by his siblings Magdalena, Juan, Mercedes, Leticia, and Julio.
David was the 7th of 10 children. He attended the University of Mindanao-Tagum. He worked as a tricycle driver in the Philippines, until arriving in Hawaii in 1972, where he worked as a carpenter and taxi driver. He retired in 2006 after working 34 years in construction with the Hawaii Carpenters Union. After retirement he continued to work as a taxi driver whenever he felt the need to work.
He was married to Adelina “Delia” Mandac, on June 20, 1975, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. They have lived in Pearl City, Hawaii for most of their life together. He attended New Hope Leeward church along with his wife and brother Juan “Johnny”.
David enjoyed traveling, golfing, watching sports, and singing karaoke. He enjoyed going to Las Vegas and has traveled to many cities in the U.S., sightseeing and visiting family. He also visited the Philippines on numerous occasions, with more family to visit. One of his most memorable trips was going to Whistler, Canada in the winter of 2008 with his family, including his brother, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He did not shy away from taking part in the many activities in the snow with his children and nieces and nephews.
Although he loved to travel, his favorite pastime was singing karaoke. Especially at family gatherings, he would patiently wait for his turn to sing his favorite song, “My Way”. He was a quiet and reserved man, but he loved the company of others, especially his family.
On June 1, 2017, he was admitted into the hospital. Due to complications following open heart surgery, he passed away 10 days later on June 11, 2017. He was loved and in the company of his family.
Celebration of life services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at New Hope Leeward Church in Kapolei (480 Kamokila Boulevard Kapolei, HI 96707); with visitation from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. and service to follow at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at Valley of the Temples Chapel (47-200 Kahekili Highway Kaneohe, HI 96744) on Saturday, July 22, 2017; visitation from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., service to begin at 10:30 a.m., with burial to follow 12:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
