I will miss David. As a fellow member of the Theta class at IWS, it ended up that we would share a hotel room twice a year as we went down to Orange Park for the class sessions. David was possibly the one person who told more puns than myself. The other members of the Theta class were glad we roomed together as that meant we would spend much of our time inflicting puns on each other rather than on the entire class. I will miss his sense of humor, his sense of wonder, optimism, and creativity.
I grieve, but I take solace in the fact that unlike the world which grieves without hope, we know that David has a future and a hope, that we will see him again, that he will rise (see 1 Thess. 4:13-18). Even in our grief, we can take comfort in that hope.
I am thankful to God for having had the opportunity to meet and get to know David.
