Dean "Piding" Silapan Cabato's Obituary
October 23, 1959 – March 18, 2018
Dean "Piding" Silapan Cabato, age 58, was born in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He was the third son of Epifanio and Porfiria Cabato. In January 1973, at the age of 14, Dean, along with his parents, brothers and sister moved to Waipahu, Hawaii.
In 2017, Dean retired from construction after 25+ years of work.
At a young age Dean developed a passion for fishing. Fishing was his favorite activity and he loved to share his catch with family and friends. If ever there was a free moment, he was on his boat catching many different varieties of fish. Over his lifetime, he must have caught thousands of pounds of fish.
Dean will truly be missed.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Epifanio and Porfiria and eldest brother, Renato.
Dean is survived by his wife, Magdalena R. Cabato, his three sons, Philip (and wife, Jennie), Grant and Dean Jr., his four brothers, Rudy (and wife, Linette), Demi (and wife, Vergie), Joaquin (and wife, Carmen), Romeo (and wife, Dina), and sister Suzanne (and husband, Domingo).
On behalf of the Cabato family, we would like to express our gratitude for all of the support and love we have received and continue to receive during this difficult time.
