Delellis Francis Andrews' Obituary
Preceeded in death by her parents Edward and Delellis Gallagher, brothers Jack and William Gallagher, husband Franklin and son George.
Survived by her loving children Tom, Kevin (Carol), Anne (John), Patty Pecken (Michael), Bob (Maura), and Larry and her fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Dee graduated with a bachelor of arts in journalism from the University of California, Pennsylvania. She taught high school for two years in her hometown Brownsville, PA. She then enlisted in the navy in WWII, where she received the rank of Lieutenant first class stationed in Pensacola, FL. Following the war, she became a TWA flight attendant, which sparked her passion for travel. Residing in San Francisco, CA, she met and married Franklin Thomas Andrews.
In 1950, they moved to Southern California where she raised their seven children and became very active in the National Assistance League.
In 1974 Dee and Frank retired in Hawaii enjoying life traveling, sailing, and playing bridge. She continued her love and commitment for philanthropy, volunteering for various outreach programs around the islands through the National Assistance League.
She will be dearly missed by all who loved and adored her but now rests in peace with Frank and George.
Her funeral mass will be on February 11, 2019, 11AM at St. Anthony of Padua Kailua where she was a dedicated parishioner for 43 years. Burial to follow at the Veterans Cemetery.
