Demetria Lazo Jacinto's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Demetria Lazo Jacinto, who passed away in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 15, 2014. She was born on December 20, 1920 in Barangay Manzante Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines to Silvestre Pacis Lazo and Filomena Ayonayon Tacuycuy. Demetria was the youngest of the children. She attended Rosary College in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation she began her career as an elementary school teacher. . She retired in 1979 from Shamrock Elementary School in Laoag City, Philippines, after serving 40 years as a teacher. She married Ricardo Corpuz Jacinto on June 17, 1950 at Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines.
She was a loving, caring, compassionate, supportive and faithful religious person whom enjoyed cooking, watching soap operas and babysitting. She was a member of the Sacred Hearts of Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church and the San Antonio Club of Hawaii, where she was President from 1987 to present. She enjoyed listening to Siksica Oapo, Amazing Grace, The Summons and Hosea.
Her most important events in life were the birth of their first child, her children's & grandchildren's graduations and coming to Hawaii.
She is survived by her husband, Ricardo Corpuz Jacinto; daughters, Mildred (Edwin) Ramos and Myrna (Raul) Natividad; sons, Philamer (Nan) Jacinto, Remy (Rosita) Jacinto and Domingo (Rosalie) Jacinto; sister, Honorato Lazo; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Among her special friends were Nana Nollie, Auntie Caring and Nana Valentina.
Visitation to her wake service will be held 5:30-9:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2014 at Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church with prayer service to begin at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation for her funeral service will be held the next day, Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 9:00-9:45 a.m. also at Our lady of the Mount Catholic Church; Mass to begin at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow 11:30 a.m. at Valley of The Temples Memorial Park.
