Dennis Tsuneshi Awaya's Obituary
Celebrating the life of Dennis Tsuneshi Awaya who was born on March 13, 1951 in Honolulu, HI. He was the last born of parents George and Violet Awaya.
Dennis attended Kalani High School, UH Manoa, and Kapiolani Community College. He joined the Air Force in 1970 and attained the rank of Sergeant. He specialized in electronic communications equipment and was honorably discharged in 1974.
He retired in June 2013 after working at Akimeka for 8 years as an ATM Implementation Coordinator.
He lived in Alaska, Santa Ana in California, Aina Haina and Makakilo in Hawaii.
His motto was, according to his son, "Keep it simple." A favorite quote of his which we can all agree with was, "Everything happens for a reason." He was a practical type of person, some hobbies of his included: fishing, bowling, billiards pool, darts, solitaire, reading, gardening, and raising fish.
He is survived by daughters Karen and Sheryl Awaya; son Jason Awaya; brother Allen Awaya; sister Gail Awaya; mother Violet Awaya.
