Batata
I have many fond memories of the summer holidays spent in Benaulim ,Goa with my Godmother and my cousins Trevor, Clarence and Kevin. They were good times.
My memories also include her waking up at the crack of dawn working hard, feeding all the pets, cooking and looking after all of us too, whilst trying to keep us in line as we played and got up to all sorts of mischief both indoors and out on the balcony.
She once sent me a poem on my birthday about 'the tiny mustard seed' which I have treasured. But of all the gifts she has given me, the greatest gift has been her words of encouragement which she reminded me of ,each time we spoke.
Thank you Aunty Doris. You will be pleased to know that I have come a long way in trying to achieve all the things that I want to .
But now you have truly earned your rest. So Sleep in Peace.
Love always - Batata
