Don Allen Punaheleokalani Smith Sr.'s Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Don Allen Punaheleokalani Smith Sr., age 69, of Kaneohe, Hawaii. Passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013. Don was born on February 13, 1944 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Raymond and Mary Smith. He was the 3rd of 10 children. Married to Lavern Tilton on July 21st, 1973 at Kamakoamauloa Church. He attended St. Ann’s Catholic School and Castle High School. After graduation he began a career in the Navy where he served from 7/25/62 to 8/19/66 and also a Truck Driver. He retired in 2005 after serving for 30 plus years in the Operators Engineer Union. After retirement he enjoyed golfing and riding motorcycle. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Pohakupaa Kiki Motorcycle Club. A very generous, loving, kind and coors light kind of man. His most important events in his life were making memories with friends and family. Some of his hobbies were fishing, diving, golfing and riding motorcycle. He enjoyed listening to Country and Hawaiian Music. He had many special friends and loved ones. Don is survived by his wife, Lavern Smith; sons, Don Jr. and Thomas "Kaleo" Smith; daughter, Lehua “Sen-Fa” Kaio; brothers, Warren, Anson, Timmie, Wayne, Marko and Wilder “Ben” Smith; sisters, Princess Collins, Baby Doll Jenson and Missy McKeague; mother, Mary Smith; 10 grandchildren
His services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Visitation will be from 5:30-6:30p.m., and service will begin at 6:30p.m.; additional visitation will be held the following day visitation will be from 9:00-10:30a.m.; with services 10:30a.m.; burial to follow 1:00p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
