My POPS/FATHER was an awesome man of God. I say Father and I know many others could say the say the same because for as long as we were growing up as kids I remember always living at the house but not just our family but two other families aswell Ulu Wehis was our stomping grounds.🤣 wether if it was the Dolines, Wegasends,Mahaulus, Pelens,or the Kawaauhau’s I remember three different families in and out of rotation including my grandparents❤️they always gave us a place to stay regardless of the situation they had our back💯
I remember all the hikes he would take us on up the valley with all the grandkids that could walk and the stories he would tell going up there. I remember all the beach days he would take us on at Souzas pond (if you know you know🤣❤️) the good times we had taking care of his horses but not just taking care of them but helping out with the rodeos going to the ranch branding the cattle loved watching him do that❤️ and loved him teaching me to do those things aswell❤️ He tought Me a lot in life and showed me how to be a Man and not just a man but a man of your word✊🏽 He showed me how to help others… I remember him taking me with him to help clean out the elderly ladies yard because it was super over grown and she had no buddy to do it. I remember helping him with concrete jobs and him showing me how to do finish work and the workers watching him aswell because he was the bull float master and his work was super clean. He tought me to take pride in your work and to do it to the best of your abilities but if you have troubles Pray and Jesus would help you out🙏🏽✊🏽 and that worked many times. He was always encouraging and a good reminder no matter what job I was in and if I was having a rough time or was moving up he always told me to remember to always give thanks to Jesus I had this saying he said to tell myself “I have an awesome job with awesome pay and I do wonderful work in a wonderful way”❤️❤️❤️ so much I could say about this awesome man but I Love you my Pops!!! And I/we miss you sooooo much!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️and don’t worry about your darling we got her❤️🙏🏽she’s our darling too❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ till we meet again my Pops🙏🏽 you left your mark in the world for the good and you will forever be in our hearts✊🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🕊️

Going over his house to watch boxing & when i couldn't make it over to watch tge fights, he would record the fights & let me borrow his VHS tapes (for those 40 yrs & up know what a VHS tape is) & he would remind me to "please rewind the tape when you pow watch!" His awesome pickled onion he made spiced with his own home grown chili peppers was amazing! I never used to eat anything spicy until I ate his pickled onions, changing my taste buds for ever & changing my love for Jesus forever by the genuine love & hospitality he displayed. Whenever I visited I looked forward to his greetings. The warm kiss, a gentle shoulder grab, and the words, ‘Honey, you look so good.’ He always asked about my family, how I was, how my parents were and he reminded me to stay close to God, to pray, and to trust that He would guide us. The first time he met my sons, his great-great grandkids is a memory that I hold dear to my heart. When he met Ezric, though he was still too little to sit up on his own, Papa’s face lit up with a grin, and he said, ‘This one looks like us.’ I will always treasure those moments, his love, and his faith that will guide us forever. I am happy to have shared memories with him, but for my children to have those as well. For them to have known their Papa Doug is a blessing in itself. We love you Papa and miss you so much.

He was the Best Grandpa anyone could ask for! Never will forget going with him to do his horses and going on hikes, dinner was always done before we got home from school, we would smell it coming home🥰 so much to cherish and hold dear our hearts! I Love You My Papa & Miss You tremendously♥️

I have so many heartfelt, important, meaningful memories... As an adult, The most important memories are to love JESUS, (with all your heart mind and soul) so our children will carry on this Spiritual Armour and Deep Honest Respect for life, Marriage and the respect to be a FAITHFUL SPOUSE. And then Daddy would always say something funny, making us Crack up... He was always telling jokes or sharing the funniest videos. Sharing the most recent "ono meals" mommy, cooked for him. Always saying " mommy is such a wonderful cook."

There are many memories that I have of my father in law Douglas Souza, but I will start with the very first one I have. I started dating Doreen (his ‘baby’ girl lol) and my future wife. The very first time I met him was when he came to pick her up from spending time with me at my Parents house. He pulled up in his baby blue chevy pick up truck and Doreen introduce him to me. She said ‘Daddy this is Billy’…. All he did was slowly turn his head toward me barely, just barely enough to get a glimpse of me and said ‘What’s up Cappy’ and turned his head back to looking forward… (gulp)… Now if your from our hometown in those years you knew that was a very on the edge kind of response you could say. That was the begging. Of course over the years and as time goes by I developed a good relationship with him. He was a Mans, man. We say old school nowadays. He was a man of his word. There are some who knew him as a fighter but he was more than that & the more time you spent with him the more you understood where that came from. He LOVED his family. He worked hard for them making sure they had all that they needed. He LOVED His wife Eleanor. She is a rock to him and his biggest supporter. He LOVED his Daughters. Beautiful girls & a beautiful family. He was their protector & provider. When you are surrounded by a loving family you have to protect it. And to me thats where that fighting spirit comes from. He was much more than that though. He loved God. He loved Jesus. God shaped and molded him into the Man who would always witness and share the love of Christ with anyone he came across, anyone who would take the time and listen to what he would share. He made an impact on people & he would be the first to praise and thank God over everything and everyone. He was a PRAYER WARRIOR! and not just for his family but the church, friends & for those who received the lord in their life by his witnessing and scripture verses he had given them. He would carry what we call tracts or cards with verses on it. And if he met someone he didn’t know he would pull out a tract that god inspired him to give.
I will miss him. We all miss him already! The legacy and impact he left on all of us will be felt for a while Im sure. But we KNOW where he is & we know who he is with. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! For ever and ALWAYS!! Love you Doug!
