Dr. Carolyn DDS's Obituary
79, of Kailua, died. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana, attended Purdue University and Indiana University Dental School. She became the second female dentist in the state of Hawaii and worked at Strong Carter Dental Clinic in Palama until its closure in 1995. Her life has been a testament to her love of Jesus Christ. She has been a dedicated and active member of the Windward Church of the Nazarene, teaching Sunday School and serving as an official greeter. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ronald Yamaoka; daughters, Leila, Laura (Michael) Austin, and Lorna (Brian) Wong; son, Joseph (Kimberly) Yamaoka, and 8 grandchildren, Maura, Alexander, Mackenzie Austin and Reyan and Ruby Wong, Raelene Wong and JJ Yamaoka; brothers, Floyd (Carolyn)and Danny (Shelby) Sewell. Celebration service Sunday, 4 March 4PM (greeting starting at 3:30) at Windward Church of the Nazarene in Kaneohe. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations made to the Windward Church of the Nazarene.
