Edward Magsayo Cantere Jr.'s Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward Magsayo Cantere Jr., who left us peacefully at his home in Waimanalo, Hawaii, on June 7, 2024. Born on June 13, 1924, in Koolaupoko, Hawaii, Edward was a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Doris; his children, Thomas, Edward (Lynette), Zachary, Dawn, and Dori-Lynne; his siblings, Alvin and Faye; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His presence will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the community he so positively impacted.
Known for his exceptional skills as a carpenter, Edward's craftsmanship graced many homes and buildings, leaving a lasting legacy of his talent. His laughter was contagious, and his humor brought joy to all who knew him. An avid bowler and paddler, Edward was a significant figure in the Kaioni Canoe Club and other canoe communities, where his passion and camaraderie were an inspiration.
Edward's life was a testament to the power of community and the joy of living each day with purpose and laughter. As we bid farewell to a man who made everyone smile, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Rest in peace, Edward. You have left us with beautiful memories, and your spirit will forever paddle in the waters of our hearts.
