Eleanor S Waltjen's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Eleanor “Nana” S. Waltjen, 88, of Honolulu, passed away March 13, 2014 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Born in Lihue, Kauai, to Antone S. Carvalho & Mary Camara. She was the eldest of 7 children and married the love of her life Herman Waltjen on May 4, 1946 at St. Agustine's Catholic Church in Honolulu. She was a very proud and strong Catholic and gave many years of service to the Church. Nana was a strong willed, independent, confident woman who loved deeply and from the heart.. She raised 8 children of her own and opened her home to numerous others over the years. She was so proud at the age of 71 when she went back to school to receive her High School diploma. She was a homemaker for most of her life taking care of the home and her children, grandchildren and great grandchidlren. She is survived by her children; Steph (Wayne) Kamakeeaina; Jackie Waltjen; Gwen (Fred) Harrington; Debbie Waltjen; Bobbie Antonio; Brenda (Marcus) Ohlheiser; Jon (Kat) Waltjen & Diane Dizon; sisters; Peggy DeLaura & Marian (Sam) Kaomea; brother Phil (Candy) Carvalho; 11 Grandchildren; Cori (Zandee) Dudoit, Deanna “Dinky” (Jim) Reece, Cherie (Keoni) Akina, Tifani Waltjen, TJ Waltjen, Wayde (Margaret) Waltjen; Uluwehi Antonio, Bryen (Jodie) Waltjen, Keala Kamakeeaina; Marcus (Ashley) Ohlheiser & Marty (Cece) Ohlheiser; 8 Great Grandchildren; Codee (Irish) Dudoit, Ashley (Kory Romero) Ordenstein, Kamakani Dudoit, Keahi Akina, Pearlene Waltjen; Ikela Waltjen, La’akea Akina & Mary Elizabeth Ohlheiser; 3 Great Great Grandchidlren, Honey Girl, Alapaki & Noah Dudoit
Visitation: 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 , Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; service 12:00pm; burial 1:00 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
