Eleuteria Damasco Nalundasan's Obituary
Eleuteria Damasco Nalundasan was called to eternal life on April 2, 2019. She was born on February 20, 1928 in Batac City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She graduated from St. Williams College, in
Laoag, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Education.
She taught at Immaculate Conception Academy in Batac City before
moving to Guam in 1968.
After arriving on Guam she was immediately hired at Our Lady of
Mt. Carmen Catholic School. Several years later she was hired as a
substitute teacher in the Government of Guam’s public school system
where she taught in the various elementary schools. While substituting
she registered at the University of Guam’s graduate program and on
May 12, 1978 she received her Master’s Degree in Education. With that degree it elevated her to begin teaching as a permanent teacher. Her favorite phrase was “Reading takes you to far away places”. She retired in 1995 from Guam’s public school system and that same year moved to Makakilo, HI.
She is survived by her children, Grace Nalundasan-Chinen and Edgar D. Nalundasan, grandchildren, Shaun Joel Chinen and Trinity Grace Nalundasan, sister-in-law,
Placida N. Servanes; numerous cousins, nieces & nephews, grandnieces &
nephews, great-grand nieces & nephews and great-great grandnephew and niece.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park’s Trousdale Chapel. (47-200 Kahekili Hwy. Kaneohe, HI) Visitation: 10:00am-11:00am; Service: 11:00am-12:00am; Burial: 1:00pm-1:30pm at the Blessed Mother grave site. Lunch: 1:30-3:00 at Trousdale Chapel Casual attire. No flowers, please.
