Elizabeth Iwalani Higashi's Obituary
Elizabeth Iwalani "Iwa" Higashi, 75, beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister, passed away July 21, 2016 at Castle Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to parents James Tai Hook and Elizabeth Kahalekai Kelii Tai Hook and was formerly employed at Castle Medical Center, Poly-Tees and Q.C., Lum Construction. Her love was lei making and selling, which she did for over 30 years.
Iwa is survived by husband, James "Jimmy" Higashi; sons, Eric (Davelyn) Higashi and Troy (Lia) Higashi; daughters, Melanie Higashi and Shannon (Gordon) Tilton; brothers, Jerry (Janice) Tai Hook, James Tai Hook and Wayne (Roz) Tai Hook; sisters, Melinda (Eddie) Yrojo, Elsie Frisbee and Francine "Noe" (Tony) D'Aprile; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 5:30-9:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; wake service will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Graveside service and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers and lei are welcome.
