Elodia “Maria” LoPiano June 14, 1927 - December 9, 2023, Elodia Irene Maria LoPiano, age 96, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii. She’s been known by Maria. She was born June 14, 1927, to Salvatore and Concetta (DiSanto) LoPiano in La Spezia, Italy. She grew up in Livorno, Italy and later the family settled in Milano, Italy. She lived through a war in Italy. In 1947 she came to Oahu and that’s where she’s been ever since. She worked as a Waitress at the restaurants Kaimuki Inn, then at Flamingo Kapiolani for 45 years. She got her U.S.A. Citizenship. She was battling Dementia for a lot of years. She is survived by her son Michael Tadashi Morishige (Yan) from San Diego, a daughter Susan Mariko (Shigeta) Weber from Maui, four grandchildren Michael Morishige, Jr. (Christy), Gina Morishige-Bernardo (Mark), Carolina (Rivera) Manini (Tony), Salvatore Rivera (Gina), seventeen great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren. On Monday, January 29, 2024, will have the Viewing & Entombing Service at Valley of the Temples in Kaneohe. For more information, please contact Valley of the Temples.
