Elpidio Q. Calucag's Obituary
Elpidio Quevedo Calucag, known to family and friends as “Elping” and “Pidiong” passed away peacefully on September 19, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Elpidio is survived by his wife of 53 years, Magdalena (Del) and his children Raymund (Alma), Dahlia (Paul), and Edmund (Maria Bella). He is also fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Monica, Matthew, Martin, Andrei, Angelia, Kyle and Kody.
Elpidio was born on 2nd of September, 1935 in Solsona Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Bartolome Mostrales and Cayetana Quevedo Calucag. He graduated with a degree in Criminology and dedicated his life to public service under the Philippine Government. He was an avid bowler and competed internationally. He enjoyed talking about legislations and politics. Elpidio retired in 2003, and migrated to Honolulu Hawaii to join his wife and children.
Elpidio and Del traveled extensively and enjoyed visiting family and friends. They took delight in hanging out by the beach of Waikiki and walking around Ala Moana Center. Elpidio and Del adored their grandchildren and relished being grandparents.
Elpidio’s celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 27th at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (640 Puuhale Rd., Honolulu HI 96819). Visitation and Memorial services at 9:00am followed by a funeral mass at 10:00am. Please join the family for lunch at 11:15. Burial will be at Valley of the Temples (47-200 Kahekili Hwy, Kaneohe HI 96744) at 2:00pm.
