Emele Maumalanga, 74, of Hayward, California, passed away on August 12, 2024, in Berkeley, California. Born on October 12, 1949, in Tonga to Molia Fungalei and Langaola Kolokihakaufisi, Emele was a beacon of light to all who knew her. She was a bright, friendly, and humble woman who made friends effortlessly and was cherished by many.
Emele leaves behind her beloved husband, Sione P. Maumalanga, and their five wonderful children, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her warmth and kindness extended beyond her family, touching the lives of countless friends and community members. Emele’s legacy of love, compassion, and humility will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
