Emily Manuiki Lono's Obituary
Emily Manuiki Lono was born on September 26, 1941, in Koloa, Hawaiʻi, to George and Caroline Hoopii. From a young age, Emily carried a deep love for music, culture, and connection—threads that would guide her life’s journey. She pursued her passion as an entertainer, sharing the beauty of Hawaiian music with audiences for many years while living in Seattle. Through her performances, she brought warmth, aloha, and a sense of home to countless people far from the islands.
Eventually, Emily felt the strong call of her roots and returned to Hawaiʻi, where she continued to embrace family, culture, and community. Known for her loving spirit, musical talent, and quiet strength, Emily touched the lives of all who knew her.
Emily passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, in Waipahu, Hawaiʻi. She is survived by her niece, Shirley Ebinger; her nephews, B. Weston Coleman Jr., Gary Coleman, and Mark Coleman; as well as many grandnieces, grandnephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly. Emily’s legacy lives on through her music, her kindness, and the aloha she shared so freely.
